Humor is sometimes lost on the internet. I see app.net as a project/product by someone spurned by closed systems hoping to build a more open and egalitarian system, but it still is centralized. There is a leap of faith to believe that this

I've played around with writing a couple of mobile apps (iOS and WP7) in my spare time. I think of this as a hobby since I have a day job. That said, I have this mental block -- for me, a mobile app does not make a viable startup. Sure t

Historically, Canada has never really swung wildly in any sector. Housing, tech, business, natural resources, etc. the only "dominant" is natural resources and it provides a nice base. But, the economic swings have been minor compared to

"Our votes are basically ineffectual anyway." That sentiment was quite prominent in 2000 during the Bush / Gore election. A lot of people voted for Nader hoping to legitimize a third party on the ballot. The common thinking was Gore and B

Facebook certainly has a reputation in engineering circles as following the "move fast and break things" model or touting "eventual consistency" or similar. That works for certain areas, as others have pointed out, but once you start manip

It seems to me, Android phones focus much more on the brand of the device than the platform it is running... "Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch" Ads might mention mention Android but much more verbiage is about the device features and the l

I'd argue, the platform that is easiest depends on your skill set/background. Azure is going to be significantly easier and more productive for someone with a .NET background, for instance over any of the others mentioned.
