Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out. Given our ignorance, though, and the likelihood that along some margin or another this becomes a zero-sum game between the atypical and the typical, I'd rather see a little less swashbuckling

Sometimes discrimination is rational. That doesn't "excuse it", nor is it necessarily so in this case, but I rarely see anyone go through the trouble of ruling it out. Which is a pity, because greater cognizance of that fact

My pre-theoretic intuition is that it's plastic up to some fixed degree determined primarily by genetics and secondarily by early life experiences. Given the degree of ignorance and uncertainty involved, though, I think a more interest
