Zotero is/was a XUL application, and the whole application used to (also) be a Firefox plugin. So the similarities are not unexpected.

To be fair, that's a pretty nice link, not many companies provide such an overview. And most (all) of those features are useful things that you'd probably actually want to enable in daily use. And Zotero can run completely offli

My ISP does, but they're the exception to the rule and cater to techies. Of course support questions for random devices need to be more specific than just "it doesn't work".

There have been constant improvements since 1.0, the latest version is 2.1, see here: https://support.remarkable.com/hc/en-us/articles/36000236337... - Search was fixed in 1.5 - USB is still not a drive, but

It's rather basic (i.e. not great), and only supports DRM-less epub and pdf.

There used to be a Linux client, but not anymore it seems. If you can live without the convenience of cloud sync on the PC, USB transfer should also work on Linux. You'll need to physically connect the device to your PC though.

It probably depends on what you mean by really small. Writing resolution is pretty good and most importantly it tracks the tip precisely. It's not as sharp as a real 0.2mm mechanical pencil, but you can write legibly down to ~2mm lin

Yes. The USB interface works well on the reMarkable 1, you just plug it in and go to http://10.11.99.1 in a browser. The cloud service is the default, but it is optional [1]: > Our cloud service is a service we provide to our

I find it interesting that many people don't seem to know the "git rerere" option [1], even experienced devs. With long lived feature branches that takes away 95% of the frustration people have with rebasing. Theoretically, o

Also sites that accept a 07/21 expiration date but not 7/21. Even worse if they accept it but then say it's an invalid card.

ManicTime does exactly that on Windows, even in the free version. On Mac, Timing is a similar alternative. Both track windows and work offline.

IIRC Canvas displays were not developed by reMarkable, it just uses one. But one of the key selling points was that the reMarkable didn't use the vendor display driver for that Canvas display, but instead they wrote a faster one. I hav

At least for grayscale e-ink (Carta) displays they have this under control quite nicely. Full refresh isn't needed often, and when it's needed it's a fast rolling refresh rather than the traditional full screen blanking. Alth

E-ink does need a light source, it's impossible to read without sufficient environmental lighting (like real paper).

Yes, automatic enforcement is invaluable. Instead of a commit hook you can also use a pre-receive hook on the server. This allows rebasing, wip commits etc. locally and doesn't require any client config.
