Quality of life has been going down for most Americans over the past few decades. It's harder to buy a house, raise a family, etc. on a modest income. Increasing cost of goods has outpaced wage increases but there are probably other fa

I think curation is the key. I sort of trust Disney to curate content for my kids. I definitely do not trust Youtube to do it. I don't want my kids to be able to "discover" content. Why is that always the feature? Rhetorical

Kagi seems like a cool company - I'm not a customer yet. I'd like there to be technology companies I can trust - perhaps like Kagi. I have been really happy with NextDNS though. My kids, not so much. But hey ... that's parent

I found that most of the content on YouTube kids existed as a means to advertise products. I don't necessarily care to understand the economics of it because it just doesn't provide enough value to bother. What I do understand is

There's a lot of brain drain in Kerala with people getting educated and leaving. Those that leave do, however, send money back to their families and I know many who return to live in India after 5-10 years. This was the case a decade o

I was born in the US but my parents are from Kerala and I still have family there that I visit. One thing I found interesting was the pride in literacy and education. Kerala has a 96% literacy rate which is the highest in India [1]. It'

Having just one other person in the trenches is so helpful. I hadn't thought about the social altruism angle but I think there's a lot of truth to it. I also agree about time. I think new products follow a model similar to compoun

I have a different approach. I look for a theme on Theme Forrest which has most of the layouts and components I think I'll need and I lean on those VERY heavily. And for logos I use icons from Font Awesome or Bootstrap. Most of the tim

Many of Gary's videos on the economy shed light on what's happening in the US right now. A lot of sleight of hand to convince the general population that the villains are immigrants, government employees, anyone on welfare, etc. I

There’s truth to this comment. I was 4 years away from the financial number I had in mind while working for a big company. 2023 was a pretty miserable year and I got laid off in 2024. The severance was nice (4 months of pay) but if you’re a

It's less of a robust meal planner. It's meant to get the ingredients from an online recipe into your Kroger/Safeway/etc cart for pickup. We use it to find 4-5 meals we want to cook for the week and it takes about 15 min
