I'm a semi-recent convert back to iPhone from Pixel. One thing I deeply miss is spam filtering of text messages. This is a huge lacking feature in iPhone. You don't get these kind of low-interest texts on Pixel. Truly spammy texts

I mean, it's already happening all over the world. It's not just Germany. The UK already taxes carbon in aviation fuel. It's about to implement a carbon pricing mechanism for jet fuel obtained in jurisdictions without it. The

One of the key features of Overture is its planned use of e-fuels. I think this is almost crucial. Airlines are not going to line up to buy non-renewable, fuel-guzzling, net CO2-gushing supersonic jets for use over the next couple decades.

Incinerating what money? They are no longer raising funds for SpaceX in funding rounds -- just doing funding rounds for employee liquidity events.

I think the missing info here is that Musk gave the non-profit the initial $100 million dollars, which they used to develop the technology purportedly for the benefit of the public, and then turned around and added a for-profit subsidiary w

Ukraine's primary artillery for 155mm shells are the French CAESAR and US M777. There is no need to fire tens of thousands of shells with this equipment, and no one would ever do that. These shells cost thousands of dollars each. The u

There are upsides though. It does add to grid resiliency, as the loads can be easily shed. It does make more funds available for investment in the industry. It's not clear that reducing loads would lead to quicker investment in renewab

Is this a serious question? You think SpaceX developed the industry-leading orbital rocket, launched hundreds of times to deliver thousands of in-house developed satellites utilizing homegrown, novel argon gas ion thrusters, to develop a gl

It's probably Mandela Effect from pondering this too long, but I could swear it was said by Al Swearengen on HBO's Deadwood, which would be pretty amusing if true (although likely not).

Is $1.7 million actually that bad? I'm not sure this is unusual to San Francisco. Just a couple days ago, I saw Honolulu suggest a new public toilet would cost $1-2 million, along with $400,000 annually in maintenance and damage from v

Double wrong. The poster even asked others not to share stories about Airbus, leaving them in ignorant bliss. The poster was simply concerned for their individual safety, which is unwarranted.

That was not the point. The point was how much you should individually worry flying on a Boeing aircraft, and the answer is significantly less than the drive to the airport.

This is an example of how attention from the media causes us to vastly overweight the significance of a negative event. The 737-900 has never had an incident. We found some loose bolts on a door plug that shares a design with the 737 MAX-9,
