Thanks for sharing! And kudos to a boss who is also a friend - there are so many people far away from their loved ones, and therefore lonely, on what should be the happiest day of the year for all - so everyone, please remember who you coul

Any information created by humans is part of our "culture". You may consider it of no value, but someone else may beg to differ. I went to a fantastic talk a few years ago at the British Library about digitizing a substantial quan

Fix your points of regret while this is still possible. If you do so, you will find that very likely, you will want to go once successful.

To ask "why are you here?" suggests these people were poorly raised or just plain rude. Attendees of a funeral make an effort to pay their respects to the deceased and to express their condolences to the family left behind.

I refuse to believe for a second that your attendance was considered inappropriate; the person being burried at least would have surely been happy for you to be there and think of him or her. Also, your intentions are to be commended regard

I'm surprised the author doesn't mention LISP, despite recognizing at some point that programming also IS language design (without explicitly calling it meta-linguistic abstraction, unlike SICP). LISP is the language/notation

I also find it more useful to teach something real , not a toy. Even PASCAL was never a toy, though it was designed motivated by teaching purpose, it became professional because it was capable of that. When I told some friends I was going

It may help that I hate soft drinks and don't like alcohol. But I'll never give up bread, pizza, pasta and chocolate. Anyhow, better n happy years than (n + x) miserable years, and where x remains unknown.

Thanks for sharing. Simplicity is a good thing. In order to speed it up by reducing the number of malloc() calls, it may be worth adding a simple arena memory allocation measure: by allocating one larger block (e.g. 1 MB) initially and then
