It's also about spotting the beautiful in your surroundings; rather than just interestingness in the mundane, Ingress draws attention to art that you may not ever have looked at before despite walking past it every day. I've discovered a nu

Looks like many of us had the same idea here. I've been trying to hack together iOS OCR libraries but realised it's actually quite doable without, so derailed a little and therefore got beaten to the post by you all :-) My thought being tha

Good luck with that! It was seeing friends post about NaNoWriMo that inspired me to post this thread, actually; I'm not doing NaNo, which made me think what am I doing ?

Improve my swimming technique, culminating in 50 yards proper freestyle. Build a Letterpress solver. Enjoy time with my dog. Run outside with no goals or time limits, just to be. Teach my first online course, and see how well that content a

That's really interesting. I'm going to have to look into that, as I have a pretty intense workout schedule (Crossfit + triathlon training) and don't usually do well working out while fasted. Thanks for sharing.

On first read I thought this implied it would add Obamads to my browsing experience, but looking more deeply, it just replaces other ads with Obama. Neat idea.

It's an intersection of (people interested in tech) & (people interested in entrepreneurship), both are male dominant though one could argue for a close to equal balance in the latter if you consider any side business entrepreneurship -

I wasn't offended by ben's shirt - I thought he had the best presentation of the day, and content outweighs slogans. The issue with role models is a great point though. But how to fix? If there are no female YC alumni with great stories abo

Check out http://tryruby.org/ while you wait. I just ran through it again last night and it's so beautifully crafted I want to weep. I learnt Ruby kind-of-alongside Rails and wish I'd spent more time focusing on the language itself; I'm g

Do you plan to run it again next year? Would you ever consider branching out to SF? (Though the idea of a 3 month retreat in NY is extremely appealing, based on love of the city alone...) Is your location dog-friendly?
