Do you find it reasonable that people can "own" domain names? I think so, because unlike a software patent, a domain name is really hard to share with everyone simultaneously. Do you think people should be allowed to buy and sell things the

This is worth considering, but it depends on who's calling, what industry you, they, and the candidate are in, etc. If you answer the question "what was their title?" with "they mostly did X and Y, they were incredible", I doubt that's goin

I think the analogy to startups is this: You can plan 100 features, implement 100 features, launch 100 features, get feedback on 100 features OR You can plan, implement, and launch 1 feature, get feedback on it, then move on to the next fea

Way back when I was young and first learning shell scripting, I was taught not to use csh for scripting. Is that no longer true? Have the problems described here http://www.faqs.org/faqs/unix-faq/shell/csh-whynot/ been fixed in newer vers

It's worth noting that the Wayback Machine shows the Britney misspelling page existing almost unchanged since March 2002 ( http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://www.google.com/jobs/... ). The back link has varied a bit over the years.

Regarding point x, it's not that screen size is calculated on the diagonal; doubling the diagonal (and keeping the same aspect ratio) doubles the width and height as well. The key is that area is the square of any linear dimension (again, f

If Apple "invented" the GUI by commercializing some ideas that started at Xerox, how is it that the Xerox Star was released before the Lisa? Now, the Macintosh was a far more impressive execution of those ideas than either of its predecesso

I'm a little suspicious of people who claim to think "everything" through from "first principles" (whatever those are). Where do you get your first principles from? If you get them from observing the world around you, how do you decide what
