The bot doesn't know, but the ad platform is optimizing for similar traffic. So if bots are more likely to click download, and bots have similarities, bots see more ads.

Unfortunately, targeted ads have been around far longer than the internet. The direct mail industry was booming for decades. That said, it's ENTIRELY possible to target ads based on intent or interest without tracking individual users.

Start by choosing a definite objective. Something obvious and unavoidably precise. Do you want to help more people, or the same people more? If the former, set a new users objective. If the latter, set a lifetime customer value objective. H

Read "High Output Management" by Andy Grove. If you learn to do 20% of what's in that small book you'll be ahead of 80% of so called "managers". For leadership, read "Good Strategy, Bad Strategy".
