"Low Code" is a new (to me) buzzword, but Microsoft has targeted that niche for a long time. Specifically I'm thinking of the older Visual Basics (3-6) and the advanced scripting and database features in Office.

It's wrong to call output parameters a "C/C++ trick" because the concept really has nothing to do with C, C++, buffer overruns, purity, or "other nastiness". The idea is that the caller tells the function its c

I don't follow any of this too closely, but I thought the whole idea was to get rid of courts by using precisely codified contracts? What's the advantage if the result is the same system as before (lawsuits, courts, etc.) with add

Eh, I don't know... I suspect the speed up depends a lot on how a person uses Emacs. I've been using it for a few months as well, and I haven't noticed any change. My start up time, as measured with 'emacs-init-time, i

The irony is that some parts of the United States had great rail connections in the past, and they were torn up to make way for roads. The front range of Colorado, for example, had trains everywhere in the late 1800s. It was the way to g

I guess I don't see where the "good" is there? Being a representative isn't supposed to be a "get rich quick" scheme. They already make a lot of money and IMO if they're going to invest in stocks they sho

I don't see what the problem is. Realistically, any company investing in one of these robots is going to make sure it's right for their workflow and that they're using boxes capable of being lifted this way.

To also play devil's advocate, that could happen with a non-corporate mapper on the other side of the world, too. The solution, I think, would be a mandatory date field specifying when the data was accurate, and only allowing updates w

That hasn't always been true. USGS topo maps, for example, were originally drawn and plotted on paper and had to be digitized. At one point, I think they had a way to request a digital scan, but there was a processing fee. Now almost

Not that I doubt your story, but Nikon support is usually pretty good, IME. Last year I cracked the lens mount on my d810, and I took it to the shop where I bought it, and they sent it off and had it repaired no questions asked for a reason

Yeah, it seems like a reasonable policy, IMO. The sellers can change even if the product doesn't, so don't pollute the reviews with that information. Report it to Amazon and let them deal with it.
