I'm not entirely sure what problem you're trying to solve. Are you trying to "fix" the impression that PG-pandering is present so more outsiders make their way into the community? I don't particularly care if PG gets tons of karma. I love t

Haha. That's terrible advice! :) How about just checking your email once every few hours or when you feel like it? That seems to be a less extreme reaction.

I don't think you could succeed. First of all your self-abasing statement that you could succeed except for DH2 is an obvious ploy to catch us off guard. Nice try. Secondly, I don't like your tone. Not one bit, sir. Who, exactly are you t

Hey, I just downloaded your app. Nice job. I especially like how you guys seeded my tasks so that it's natural for me to start using the app instead of getting a dauntingly blank task list. Have you guys considered a watered down free versi

Do you see a difference between teams using Agile to maintain existing products and teams building brand new stuff? I've found in my experience so far, that Agile works better for new development and can't or shouldn't be used as a hammer f

Heh heh. For some reason I can't stop laughing at this post. Maybe it's because it's 1 am and I'm punchy or maybe it's because somebody took the time to draw Christ in Ascii.

Good idea that's being implemented now. I think the cell phone approach is much more elegant than a wearable camera. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1850411...

Because it's...funny? Actually, it's not funny at all. His attitude is a perfect example of how many 9-5 programmers act when faced with functional programming. If he was a .NET developer he'd be using the new functional features of .NET 2.

I agree with you. What I'm more interested in however, is who really gets to say what dishes are on the buffet? The cooks? The consumers? My gut tells me the consumers have a lot less choice than it appears.

Interesting. I'm a white guy and my wife isn't "white". We live in Maine, the whitest state in the union. When our daughter sees a picture of a non-white woman she always says that she "looks a little like mama". However, the same doesn't a

I think I have a pseudo explanation for why we can't predict what the future looks like (and I also mean that literally). Change happens from the bottom up, not from the top down. When a new radical idea takes hold and is adopted, it gradua
