I loved GitBox, so I'm more then willing to give this app the $2 benefit of the doubt, but the AppStore description doesn't do a great job describing what the app does. It's a list of common app phrases and terms in different languages, but

I can't speak for MG, but Gruber and Marco definitely do not automatically dislike anything non-Apple. Read both of their writings on WebOS or Windows Metro UI for a positive spin on non-apple products or their writing on Game Center, Ping,

That's an amazing article but the corollaries to the current opposition to US health care reform seems a little too neat. Wikipedia is sparse on the subject, has anyone seen any other sources of info on Campaigns, Inc?

If you're going to be switching anyway, Octopress is very nice. Octopress uses rake for posting, git for SCM and various organizational bits, host on github or on your own server.

No they couldn't have. The "logs of iPhone users' positions" you refer to were stored on the device and never sent to Apple. It's highly unlikely they could have ever been sent to Apple anyway both from a legal perspective and a PR perspect

Anecdotally, everyone always has their email open anyway (I do, everyone I work with does, my family aways does), so the extra step of checking your email is trivial.

If there was one Android phone released every year, it would get at least as much coverage as the release of the iPhone.

Funny. I ran into an issue a few weeks ago where coworkers couldn't see me when I was online. Turns out my computer name (🐒💨) caused an error in Adium (which most coworkers use for chat). Who knows what other weird issues this was causing…

This is highly dependent on the app. All iOS projects I've worked on have been 50-80% UI code sitting on top of a pretty thin set of persistance and networking classes.

Linus has guessed it took him about two weeks to get git to the point it was self-hosted. http://www.spinics.net/lists/git/msg24132.html It's still impressive, though. Edit: Should have read further. It looks like Linus got git self-hosti

Seconded. I've been using blue host for years with no troubles. Only downside is they keep lowering their rates, so I've got to call them every year or so to switch to the cheaper plan.
