I'm not the author (just the submitter), but I did try the example you mentioned and it worked fine for me. Are you sure you typed everything exactly as it was listed? If so, I'm sure the author would appreciate the feedback. You can find h

In all of the performance sensitive systems I've worked on, "flipping logging on" in production is simply not an option for, well, performance reasons (i.e. the reason that it wasn't turned on in the first place). If you're then going to te

The outcome of this story was favorable (which is why we're reading it). I wonder, however, if there are far more stories that begin the same way but end with "You're being fired for insubordination" or something similarly negative.

It's certainly a useful bookmarklet, but I worry that reducing the amount of work required to post a link will result in a much larger number of links being posted, further diluting the "new" page. I kind of like knowing that the person sub

It's funny: I never really noticed this as a problem except in the past two weeks or so. April Fools' Day, the iPad release, and Apple changing it's TOS has created the perfect storm of "categorical dupes". Do you think this is a trend like

It's a bit disingenuous to say "Good ideas are meant to spread." They're not really meant to do anything, in the same way that the common saying "information wants to be free" is nonsense. It seems hand-wavy to say "good ideas are meant to

Actually, it's not being split at all. There's going to be a "small" variant that is a proper subset of the "large", or complete variant. Small would just be a reduced feature set.
