Piggy backing on your comment. The problems with FOSS are personalities and alignment. OS X happened because Jobs made it happen. I was hoping Ubuntu and Shuttleworth would achieve something similar, but working the established community

Value is always found in the honest exchange of ideas, and I found the link to SWEBOKv3. I'm happy for your post bringing it to my attention!

What am I missing? It looks like it is priced much higher than the MBP, and aside from a more appropriately priced TB SSD and ports (yes, Apple f'd this up short term), I'm not seeing what makes it better.

You'd think they'd learn from Java! Edit: Not a shallow dig, but I had lots of fun using a 3rd party library that had locked down a lot of methods which prevented some sales driven features...

I would call your description a stereotype, excluding the flying car and robot, but I'm sure there are also white, hip hop dudes that fit there as well.

I believe AWS uses/used CSS to animate their admin ui arrow spinners. They use enough CPU to turn the fans on my laptop which rarely turn on under normal circumstances.

My first instinct was to agree with you. Sadly, I know quite a few Americans who could care less about their homogeneous neighbors, let alone those of different colors/creeds/cultures.

Firing the person making the comments isn't the same as firing someone who supports a party and the candidate regardless.

As bad as Donald is, he just isn't bad enough to take this severe of an action against a supporter . It would be anti-American at its worst.

FWIW, I recently analyzed most of the options out there. I'm in the process of finishing my switch from Dropbox, mainly due to their lack of transparency. Here's the summary before my writeup is published: - my needs aren't

My wife had a Palm Pre with WebOS when I had an iPhone 3G. The Pre was pure crap, but the OS was very interesting and intuitive. I rarely had to help her with it. She's had iPhones since then, which can frustrate her due to how it h

Meanwhile, the “dark sky” movement criticizes LEDs as a major contributor to what it calls the “light pollution” that humans cast into the night sky. As a former, quasi-astronomer, nothing at night is more impressive than a star lit sky.
