What this really does is remove the ICC's authority. It's one of those things -- if you make up rules and then can't enforce them, pretty soon no one cares what you say about anything.

I've dragged multiple MBPs all over the world, they're the sturdiest thing you can get short of a getac or a tough book.

You'd be amazed what the executive branch is legally allowed to do. They don't have to spend a dime. Now no executive in my lifetime has ever shied away from spending every dime they could squeeze out of Congress, but maybe this

That's definitely not what happened and not what the report says. Also, this is a STOVL aircraft, and I suspect the procedures are completely different.

He's certainly a highly trained Naval Aviator, but he had very little time in the F35.

That's what everybody in the military gets fired for. It's just boilerplate for public consumption. We don't know why he was fired, but the logical conclusion is that it was this incident.

I don't think it says exactly that. It says he still had backup instruments and good flight controls and ejected from a flyable plane. If that were strictly true, they'd be well within standards to fire him. I'm not sure I

I can do all of those things, I do them regularly, except replace broken parts as that's not something I really have had to deal with much.

Only if you do 20 years. That's the thing people don't understand about all that -- those fake numbers are including a pension that for the majority of people who are in the military will never exist. BRS was an attempt to give th

13 is basically the max unless you get into management. There are a very few 14 positions and nearly no 15s. Almost no one in tech gets into SES, and they wouldn't want to -- SESs don't write software.

Most federal employees are limited by the amount paid to a member of congress. The SES doesn't have a lot of people in it and they mostly run a bureaucracy, they're not doing real work.

We've recalled retirees, most recently in the mid 2000s. There were a lot of them recalled in the gulf war in the 90s. So a bit more likely than the draft. I'm technically also subject to the UCMJ for the rest of my life as well.

That retirement plan no longer exists just for the record. The "total compensation" numbers that military recruiters tout are not actually real. I know, I lived it for 23 years.

Interestingly, Japanese "learn" English in high school. Most of them can read and write it passably, but can't speak it confidently and as per culture, if they can't do it perfectly they don't want to do it at all.

Indians speak English. Japanese in general do not. There is also a massive culture gap between Japan and the rest of the world. It's hard to explain if you haven't lived there.
