If anything, better hardware is just an enabling technology for programming languages that run their static analysis at compile time. Rustc is written in Rust - it's not like it's going to get 10x faster any time soon.

TSC doesn't need to "stick around", right? Just a run-once and the program is over? In those cases, https://github.com/fitzgen/bumpalo works amazingly as an arena. You can pretty much forget about refere

In a multithreaded context, shared data was shared via atomic reference counting. The atomic operation acted as a single bottleneck for every operation. The solution was to derive deep cloning for the shared data (a 1 line fix) to reduce at

In contrast, embedded Rust is quite a pleasant experience on the nrf line, including the 52xx series.

That’s awesome! Your embedded rust is very good, that’s probably some of the cleanest embedded code I’ve ever seen. Awesome that you had time to tweak the HAL and ship your product. Makes me want to update a few embedded interfaces with bet

Why your own HAL crate? What’s different between yours and the original nRF HAL?

It's exciting to see another thread-per-core async runtime for Rust. It's truly understated how difficult the Send + Sync requirements in Tokio are for writing regular code. It's typically rare for async tasks in Tokio to be

The field-reversed-configuration (FRC) creates a somewhat-stable moving donut of plasma that doesn't need to be "contained" per-se. The configuration of the plasma induces a magnetic field, tightening the donut as it moves. T

There's dozens (hundreds?) of different types of conceptual fusion designs. Are you talking about fusion in general or just with FRCs? In general, there's so many ideas that "don't seem like they wouldn't work"

The government doesn’t make ovens or light bulbs, but does maintain the infrastructure. I think there’s a distinction to be made there.
