We had one at home from early 1980's. It was bought by my dad's business, it came home weekends and he taught himself to program. He used to create job schedules and pricing estimates and I got to do the data entry! Dad seriously

RSS couldn’t do it’s on its own as it’s just a mechanism to distribute content. Less technical content creators would still want somewhere to publish the content to and on the consuming side there would need to be a discovery mechanism.

Average number of properties per post code is 15 (max about 100), so a lot smaller than a route. And in rural area the routes are often kept to the same small group of staff for years.

Depending on your website market you also shouldn't set language based on browser preferences, but should be user selectable. I've spent years working with desktops builds from US-based IT teams that have then been deployed global
