TypeScript has the same number problem that JavaScript has.

I want to like JavaScript, but the type coercion land mines and the lack of a real numeric tower make me a little queasy. When I have to use JS I stick to the transpile-to-js languages mostly for those reasons.

Right, but then you should store it "in a chip designed against physical attacks", as the person you replied to mentioned.

For the truly paranoid: have two amazon accounts, one for services (AWS, Kindle, etc) you care about, and one for purchases that you wish to protect.

I haven't checked git, but even if git uses exec*() directly and skips the shell (which I suspect it does), the problem still exists. The issue isn't one of shell quoting, but one of ssh treating the argument list ["ssh"

It's interesting to me that the fix was pattern matching the ssh hostname and banning a starting hyphen, rather than (say) passing "--" to ssh to signal the end of the intentional options so a hostname of "-oProxyCommand

Is there a high level write up about this somewhere? I can't figure out off the top of my head how a hostname that starts with a hyphen and gets mistaken for an ssh option causes arbitrary local command execution. Wouldn't the fir

Is that true? I don't know much about macroeconomics but it seems to me that even though these folks aren't earning at their full potential, the jobs are being done by someone. In other words, if these folks were earning more, som

I wish the node ecosystem would learn from more mature ones. I would like to see a curated set of popular libraries that are stabilized and blessed, and a core group that handles security updates and upgrading packages in the blessed set.

How would that be a compiler bug? Assuming g() is never called with a NULL pointer, this code should not produce any compile-time errors: int f(int *x) { if (x == NULL) return 0; return *x; } int g(int *p)

There's a little randomness in the Catan deck of cards: the bottom 5 cards of every shuffle are not used. Not as much as dice, but also not a guarantee for certain numbers to come up a certain amount.

Sure, if you return an index. I bet the parent poster was discussing returning a pointer, though. Imagine look4 returned a pointer to the found element. Making look4's signature const-correct in C is not possible. (Think of strchr).
