There are still out-of-bounds concerns and chasing through NULL pointers. (Not arguing against gcc's quality or stability, just listing memory safety concerns that transcend memory deallocation)

I use chrome's devtools protocol, so I get a pipe to the browser that I can issue commands over. The token is sent to the browser via that; there is no URL on the command-line for other users to snoop via 'ps' or the task man

What I do is generate a random token, pass it to the browser I spawn, and only accept requests that include the token.

For the life of me I can not print to my Brother HL-2270DW over wifi from linux or android. I've tried all combinations of print services, cups drivers and wrappers (even the ones from the Brother web site), and protocol/port/

Friendly nit: c++ isn't strictly a super set of c, thought it is fairly close.

Have you considered making a maze that can not be solved by the follow-the-left-wall or follow-the-right-wall strategies? I think it'd be fun to send anyone following one of those into an inescapable large loop of some kind.

Yes, this is true for a great many things. If I compile these pseudo-static binaries for use on multiple different linux distributions or libc versions, I compile on the oldest/lowest common denominator so that it runs everywhere I nee

By static I meant go and rust dependencies bundled into the executable. Dynamically linking to libc is ok with me, any system I run on has a usable libc.

I'm not sure why Ruby (dependencies at run time) and Go and Rust (dependencies at compile time) are both lumped together as examples of what you aren't looking for. Doesn't go or rust give you a static executable?

But that's my point, freedom defined as "more choice" is not simple because more choice for you may mean less choice for me. You can't just separate out the consequences.

I think both have their place. I like using guard clause style for functions which are mostly pure/functional, and one exit at the bottom style for functions that are mostly impure/procedural.

There is nothing in the problem statement that should reasonably lead you to believe there are any tricks at play. The fact that you could come up with some chicanery that the host might pull which isn't explicitly disallowed doesn

Sure, but why is this noteworthy? Choosing between any two outcomes with a coin flip where one outcome is good X% of the time and the other is good 1-X% (the rest) of the time will always give you a 50/50 good outcome...

That's no more a flaw than failing to explicitly say the car is valuable. I mean what if the car is a matchbox toy and the goats are worth more? That's not explicit either. Sometimes you have to use common sense, and I think every

I'm curious about op's suggestion that cutting hours from some will employ others. Maybe I'm thick but on the surface I'm not seeing how. If you cut back hours from 60 to 30 and pay less then wages drop. And if you don&#

If cutting hours for existing employees leads to increased productivity, then you don't need to hire new workers to make up the difference in hours.

Yes, absolutely. SVG is lower level than I'd want to do this with though - instead of comparing things like individual paths and fill colors, a dsl at the right abstraction level lets you compare things like adding a server to a load b
