Markdown is way easier than HTML and CSS. I've been hand coding some stuff, but am happy that I can maintain my own tumblelog [0] using a single Markdown file which is processed by a static site generator I wrote [1]. Even though the b

Thank you very much for catching that, it's a typo for sure. I'll fix it today. And thank you for the compliments!

There is also JSON: https://jsonfeed.org/ When I wrote my own static site generator [0] I added JSON first because it's dead simple to do so. Later I added RSS and it was quite some work to get it right ([1][2]), as in

Tested this with the RSS feed for https://plurrrr.com/ and it works great! Go to https://srv.tt-rss.org/tt-rss/#f=12&c=0 (user: demo, password: demo). Only thing that was confusing was that it take

I run a tumblelog [0] and daily I browse the New tab looking for content to link to. [0] https://plurrrr.com/ , for which I wrote my own SSG [1] [1] https://github.com/john-bokma/tumblelog

I strongly agree. I have a (mostly) link blog [0] (for which I wrote the SSG [1]) and do link to Medium articles but am getting more and more tired by the nag-screen that shows up every 5 or so posts after having deleted the medium cookies

Seconded :-) I have been hosting a forum for a small group of friends since 2004 with them, and more recently (on the same VPS) a tumblelog [0]. Would certainly recommend them. [0] https://plurrrr.com/
