This isn't true when it comes to CLI tools, where fixed costs and warm-up time can easily dominate over algorithmic complexity, especially comparing a scripting language to an ahead-of-time language. Without careful construction, a too

Gordon’s actions in HL1 is why there’s even a resistance, I think Gordon’s legendary status isn't from Gman propaganda but more from the resistance itself needing/wanting an icon/martyr/founder. It’s an interesting contr

The worst thing about macOS is the kernel, with its buggy Unix system calls (google macOS fsync), relatively slow filesystems, and general lack of features around namespacing and containerization. I would give a lot for fast native overlayf

Even with a zillion Jira clones, Jira is doing quite well and growing. Maybe one day some OpenJira clone thing will be dominant but it could be 10-20 years, which is about how long it took Postgres to rise to relevance alongside Oracle

In v8 environments like browser or node, source maps work, so if you inject console.trace you can get printf debugging w/ legible stack traces on each log line, at least that’s my experience with c code compiled with Emscripten. Accord
