5 seconds is nonsense. The average driver’s reaction time is 0.2 to 0.3 seconds. This is before the driver’s foot moves. Then there is approx 1 second before the brakes take effect (foot movement, applying the force, brakes responding) So 1

The promise of future cars is a traffic without any dependence on human errors. For that I am ok with an inevitable transition which may bring some serious accidents. The problem with trains is to get into one. A car can be boarded almost a

What are some good tools to write and maintain documentation? I can keep docs for myslef in almost any way;) but docs maintened by a team need something easy to use. Plus on-premise storage because of security and privacy..

I don’t understand the demand for “legality”. FSD is like a driver with a fresh license - both are a little dangerous in the beginning but both will get better over time. Also the FSD’s promise (be it Tesla or anyone else) is so far reachin

What’s the year of this presentation? There’s 1973 on the slide. Is this possible? It looks like a joke but I’m not sure.

Started playing with Ultorg just last week and it looks amazing. It arranges results of join operations just the way I would design it in some report builder. But this is built-in with only two clicks:-)

> Analyst Spreadsheet Package Is anything like this available today? It looks like a “notebook” (Jupyter, Wolfram,..) but more freeform:-) Or perhaps is it possible to run the original ASP on today’s mac or windows system?

Why that name “Fossil”? :-) I can imagine someone could feel reluctant to “Fossil” only because of the name. Also this reminds me about the Gimp – somehow not so catchy nomenclature.

Devonthink does PDF annotation quite good. The annotation can be markdown or RTF. It’s a whole database system so it might be a little heavy weight for just annotation. Mac only I think.

Could you please elaborate on Hickey’s and Kay’s key ideas and how to try them hands on? I know about Smalltalk (Squeak) so I guess that is the playground for Kay’s. Would just playing with Clojure do the same for the Hickey’s?

Cool. Thanks! I guess this feature is not available on macOS pre-Monterey (i.e. Big Sur)? I could not find it neither in macOS / System Preferences nor Safari / Preferences / Extensions.
