Good point. They could offer a small competitive advantage though. Many people in my neighborhood constantly change between Optimum and FIOS. Maybe if one had robo blocking, it would slightly tip the scales in their favor?

I've always been confused as to why the phone companies refused to put any effort into this. Do they make significant money from spam calls? I can't see how that would be. Does anyone have any info? In fact, when nomo robo (www

I would think that typically, a corporation has a large financial advantage over the individual in a potential lawsuit. For example, if they published a video of mine, I wouldn't even be able to pay enough to hire attorneys to file a

Sometimes, while interviewing for multiple jobs, the window to accept an offer for job A ends before you receive an offer for (preferable) job B. So you accept job A as a hedge, and then immediately rescind job A if you get the offer for j

Reminds me of Tony Horton (P90X dude). He worked for years as a trainer and aspiring actor/standup comedian. He didn't hit it big until he started making exercise videos when in his forties. The acting and comedic skills combine

Sounds good. I am a pluviophile. Is this any different than, for example, rainymood.com, rainycafe.com or rain.simplynoise.com, among others? No offense meant. Just curious.

@jgmmo You raise an interesting question about software patents. Many people think that physical hardware devices, like an improved portable GPS device for my car, or a police radar gun, should be patent eligible. Many of those same peopl

@wavefunction. I see their point, but I don't quite follow their logic. I don't think the patent office has much control over how many people file patent applications, they just examine them once they are filed. For example, th

@jokoon The low quality patents are typically not found to be valid in court. The problem is, a founder does not want to spend the money and (most importantly) time to go to court. He/she wants to work on the startup. Also, some pate

@omellet You make an interesting point. The patent office doesn't really encourage the filing of patent applications though. Instead, it examines patent applications after they are filed.

For those who want to improve patent quality, let the patent office keep its funds so it can invest in updated technology and hiring and training patent examiners. Currently, those applying for patents pay fees to the patent office, but co
