I wish so much I could simply pay for ad-free versions of software, and I don't mean in-app purchases to unlock features, which I wish people didn't do and instead had a paid version in the store. I use f-droid as much as possible

I'm not again change in general, but I think it's very arrogant to assume even the majority of people know when you can scroll or swipe. Sure, people moght try out of desperation, but random actions to figure out the ui isn't

The most frustrating part to me is the shear amount of mystery meat navigation. I cannot count the number of times daily I cannot figure out how to use an app because of menus hidden to the sides, lack if scrollbars, or otherwise no indicat

It really depends on how well the offering matches the need. My personal experience is that outsourcing core bits where vendors don't match exactly the needs ends up causing more overhead that if we had written the service ourselves.

We have a land line phone because I didn't want to have to teach the kids how to unlock my phone nor rely on my phone always being charged and accessible in case of emergency. The land line is always on accessible and always in the aam

Each family member has a subdomain all to themselves. The website before the @ allows them to know where the sender got the email address from. You can have catch-all addresses on emails, so anything without a mailbox is sent to the default

As a non-electrican, i thought we moved to polarized plugs in the us because it's safer to have switches on the live wire and not neutral so that the system isn't "live" when the power is off.

For mobile payment, the SIM acts as a means to sign messages in a way that is difficult to spoof, as you cannot directly access the cryptographic key on it. This existed and worked long before secure elements or TPUs were on the scene.
