From what I can see, Caddy also does a reload. With Apache, you can do a Graceful restart and not lose any traffic, plus, using mod_lua you could create a relatively easy way to add this automagically.

I gotta admit, I've seen more cases of founders selling their business, taking the huge payouts (and screwing their employees at the same time) and simply leaving tech completely. It's not that they are burned out; they simply got

Ugg... Apache httpd module been around for awhile, no news. Nginx module re-announced, and big news. Holy crap... is everything Nginx-related somehow important and note worth and everything Apache httpd related delegated to the trash bin? L

"Apache, due to its process model."... "(prefork)" Seems to me that the above is all based on reflections from decades ago w/ Apache httpd 1.3. Right now, all web servers can handle similar levels of concurrency wit

The problem w/ engine's Lua support is that it doesn't go far enough. Apache's mod_lua allows you to create complete modules for Apache, with total access to Apache's API.

Actually, Apache 2.4 does include an event-based, async MPM: Event. The Event MPM has not been "just" an optimized keep keepalive Worker variant for years.

Do the employees who got canned get to share in this pool? It would have been a nice gesture, esp to the open source team.

Yeah, I am a known Apache fanboy, and so I'm sure that what I say will be discounted. But, imo, this just shows what happens when an open source project becomes the sales initiative of an Open Core model company. Instead of the design

Bad C programmers will simply fault C itself for their own deficiencies. I find most of this advice as really bad and not-recommended.

Which really means nothing. It certainly is not an Open Source or Free Software license. View and fork does not mean use . Or distribute , etc...

Yet another Github project that could be useful, except that there is no explicit license. Which means it's under traditional copyright.

The change will be due not to any real "success" or benefits associated with the protocol itself, but by major players, such as Google, forcing it through. They didn't spend all that time and money steamrolling HTTP/2 no

Actually, moving from SPDY to HTTP/2 isn't any easier than going from HTTP/1.1 to HTTP/2. Google's mod_spdy was nice, but required lots of core code changes, so it was more a proof of concept. And with SPDY changing
