I'm slow this morning. That took me a couple of minutes to get the example. 'foo = 42 and foo / 2' I was expecting an undefined variable since foo was never set because I was thinking of it as foo = (42 and foo / 2) Basically I would write

To remember something you have to constantly use that information. The basic information from your youth stays with you because you were tested on it daily and practiced it for years. Also the young brain soaked up information better befo

I went with Linode since they let me set the size of the vm. I can then make my own copies/backups. Slicehost does have a nicer looking interface though, but I think their backup service is not free. I've also been waiting for prgmr.com t

Microsoft should bring life back to the Courier. I'd buy that.

I noticed it this week. I wish the lines hugged a little closer to the building and on the sidewalk though. I use it to measure my jogging distance and having it measure the street instead of the sidewalk can add a mile to my routine, whi

I think e-reader prices have gone low enough for most people. Now it's time for ebook prices to drop. Also more older books converted to ebook format.

I've gotten very selective about which android apps I install. It seems like some apps ask for more access than I would like to give them and what I think they need.

Microsoft isn't free. You need to get licenses for MS SQL, MS Windows Server, etc. As you expand, you have to pay for more licenses.

Good teachers are undervalued. Education is valued, but they sure don't give the enough compensation to the teachers. Teachers need more recognition. It's not the institution that makes a school great, it's the teachers. Thank you to th

$150 is a good price. I see Android tablets from China for $100, but slower and less ram and not as good looking. Since I already have a new smartphone, the tablet seems a bit lacking. Not Android 2.2, only 800mhz compared to 1ghz, only 2

It's not too impossible. Take for example that I could buy an Android tablet from dealextreme.com for about $100 (free shipping). 7" touchscreen, wifi, sd slot. It's not the fastest, but it's probably usable. $100 - shipping costs - prof

Since this law doesn't apply to my apartment and everybody's apartment, are we living in unsafe conditions? If someone were to visit and stay in your apartment for a few days, then somehow it becomes unsafe?

I think the chances of people doing an apartment 'swap' for their out of town/country vacation is pretty slim. 2 people going in the exact opposite direction and wanting to living in the other person's home. Seems slim chance to me unless

"There's a reason that hotels have to be licensed, and it's because people occasionally die if they're not." Show us something that backs up your statement. People die all the time. Even from things that are heavily regulated and licensed

Also this: "absent owners can lend their rooms, but are banned from taking money". This means people that go on vacation cannot take in renters. (Sorry, your point was a bit lost in all the FUD that was in that article.)

What about home owners convert their N family house into N+1 (or N+2) family houses and rent out the floor(s)? In fact I'm pretty sure it's very common to do. I've even seen houses with 2 floors, but 5 mailboxes. I'm sure the government
