A better man page reader (man tool) allowing to: - show a table of content with a key press - jump to next section with a key press (like what woman does in emacs) - on a given flag, generate examples using that flag gathered from like Git

In Star Trek, if the bridge also was a holodeck, it probably would have been amazing. I’m not speaking about the Picard holograms in the new show, but the old mater-like from TNG (or maybe like the programmable mater from Discovery).

Is it only me, or their menu bar is hovering on the text in a broken way on iOS Safari[0]? I remember seeing that buggy behaviour a few months ago, but as it’s still there, I’m starting to think not everyone might see it. [0]: https:/

Perhaps making them toggles would work better. Even if hover pseudo classes would work in mobile, we don’t see the grid while looking at the list items, so we would not even notice something has changed.

It’s a bit surprising to have fuzzing as part of the standard tool chain, but not property based testing. I guess we still need to rely on something like gopter.

I’m applauding the article to give you this tldr right away as its subtitle. They could provide a cheat sheet? But it doesn’t even seem likely to work on non Apple apps, so is it really worth knowing? If all apps had to use the same UI tool

This app looks amazing! What a fantastic job! To be honest, some of it should be native to macOS. Some of it is very smart (like using your monitor as a soft box for online calls)!

I agree with the niche use case. Using them in production here for 4 years (Akka) with our own actors that dynamically spawn each other depending on the load (along with some messages sent with timers). You usually have to think about how t

Some apps only work on one platform (eg. instagram), and this makes using them much simpler. But there shouldn’t be any restrictions for apps to run on only one device in the first place.

On the JVM, maven doesn’t make this particularly easy. It’s possible to try to store dependencies locally instead of shared in a global m2 repository, but it’s difficult to stop maven from adding the current time in jars or wars… It’s as if

One thing that is actually nicer is that podman can run kubernetes pods from the kubernetes yaml file description (mostly) directly. This avoids having to use kubernetes in production, and something different (like docker-compose) in local.

In a video, a bar with a color matching the rest of the object would be less noticeable; it would just appear as if it was blank.

Seriously cool project! This reminds me of easy motion for vim or ace-jump for emacs. Do you think it would be possible to have an on-demand contextual hat decoration? Like you say “show hats words” and only words get decorated with hats an

This used to be present in Chrome too (a few years ago), but now the only way is to go in the settings and manually add a new search engine.

Thank you. Now I understand why it’s "métrage” in French, and also why a “long métrage” means a long movie!

Another way: I mount a shared directory (from my NAS) with Files, and save a copy there (connected with Wifi). The other device can then access it similarly. You could also connect both apple ids as a family and have iCloud sync them maybe?

Emacs always has an embryonic version of that with M-x, but with a simple autocomplete. That’s is, until Helm arrived in 2011: it made everything that is a list something to be dynamically filtered (commands, shortcuts, buffers, files, etc)

I’d favour idempotence, because it allows retrying with the same result. So more of a “make it so” approach, but it doesn’t matter if it’s imperative or declarative. That being said, it depends on the action. “Send missile” should be impera
