Thanks for the feedback! I have it auto-advancing from 1 to 2, which I thought would demonstrate that it was interactive, but I guess it still needs work :/

I think the analogy of looking at a book for it's words is somewhat misguided. Judging a book by the words it contains is wrong if you're judging literature, but when you're choosing books to teach with, you have to consider the readers voc

"Sloth: The lazy shall languish in obscurity. Toilers triumph." As far as I can tell this mainly applies to marketing. Haven't seen startup founders being lazy about anything more than they are about marketing – procrastinating here will ki

I updated the post to use unsigned long long for the values (which does not overflow) I timed the calls again, but didn't bother to update the values in the post as they were within 1% of the original timings

I agree that it'd be more correct to make the C and python code output the same answer. The important thing here is how to hook up C code to python. the benchmarks are still (mostly) valid because it's still the same number of addition oper

Hi there, I'm the author of the post (my username matches the domain of the post =D ) The purpose is just to show an example of how to drop to C. I chose a contrived example so the reader could expend the minimum possible number of brain

I was wondering what happened to the old mixest. I had a pretty huge favorites list before it was killed. PS - your design work looks great (on both versions of mixest as well as your portfolio)

I like the idea of a 501c3 twitter competitor. It would be like wikipedia business-wise I guess. Centralization has it's benefits, and they could be maintained without all the crap that's happening with twitter right now.

Their API is also down... maybe a cascading effect (probably from API to frontend, but maybe a lower level failure)?

I believe google adwords got around it by adding an option to optimize ad impressions by conversion value rather than click through rate or raw traffic. i.e., instead of showing ads more and more when their click-through rate goes up. They

Definitely agree! A twitter-bootstrap-popover-esque "(1) click here… (2) then here" would also be good to help the users understand how filtering works. Though, personally, I find it very intuitive already

I disagree - the instructional dialog is the whole point. I'm not sure if you can control it's position, but that is probably the only thing you'd need to solve any problems (though I strongly disagree this is more difficult for users than
