Those look decent, and I had a similar outcome with my Aeron back in the day. Which size Titan did you get, the L or XL? Am same height as you and am guessing the XL would be better?

Really? My 2020 Outback 3.6 has dedicated buttons for driver's and passenger's heated seats. They are four stage, depending on how hot I want my bot. Maybe different trim levels move more things to physical buttons than touch scre

Absolutely. And so they have a light sensor in the dashboard, which will crank up the aircon when the sun is hitting it.

I read this post this morning and felt pretty smug in my choice to use Windows. But when I went to share a photo this evening, I found that the Chrome file picker in Windows is actually much worse! Not only does it not show previews for thu

To me, it was click-baity in the sense that from the title, I expected to get a product roadmap of the library. I think that if the title actually mentioned the need for funding, it would get more relevant eyeballs.

But good luck getting back in when they reopen. The waitlist was brutal before, and now you're on the bottom of it.

So, you'd be happy if another guest decided to leave at 2am one morning and pay you only 50%? You're charging a nightly rate, not an hourly rate.

I created and hack away on jsoup, a HTML parser/scraper for java. https://jsoup.org I created it initially just to scratch a personal itch (to make another project, https://alterslash.org , more resilient to upst

These buy vs rent calculators assume that any savings made from paying rent instead of mortgage is paid directly into an investment account. I.e. you sock away the full theoretical mortgage amount less rent paid into a managed fund or some

I've been working on a Java HTML parser: http://jsoup.org/ It supports CSS selectors, jquery-like DOM traversal and set manipulation, etc.

The two media companies I've worked for (Fairfax and News) both have manned security gates that will snap shut if someone tries to tailgate. They seem to work quite well; I've been caught by them when going through after another person too

That actually seems a lot more severe a form of punishment than buying donuts. Release management can be a full-time gig. (Aside: how many articles was Joel planning on writing when he came up with that URL scheme? Crikey.)

There is the SDCH spec: Shared Dictionary Compression over HTTP. Google Chrome uses it, and the Google Toolbar adds support to IE. The server supplies a pre-created dictionary (template) which gets cached, and further requests get a diff to

For Google's data centers: faster == cheaper. They need less servers to handle the same amount of load. Even a few % at this scale could be a big saving.

Yeah really. Why didn't they get a contract to confirm their TOS exception? Given the Sega thing, it sounds like if they package up individual games and sell it like that then they may be OK.

Really? How did you get it to work? When I tried, I got a popup "contact your carrier". The SMH is reporting that it'll be $10/m from 22nd June ( http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/mobiles/optus-iphone-teth... ), and the Optus FAQ says it w

I dunno, I think there are plenty of other areas for some competitive CompSci. As a random idea: Oracle puts up $1MM to increase their query optimiser by 10%. Plenty of test data there, easy to measure performance gain through a decrease in

I've got an Aeron at home, and a Mirra ( http://www.hermanmiller.com/mirra/ ) at work. Both are made by Herman Miller. The Mirra is a bit cheaper and doesn't look as swish, but I find it about 50% more comfortable than the Aeron (to the poi

That all makes good sense for an app built by a single developer and a specific demographic. He's cutting 10% of his potential market and probably saving 80% of front-end dev time. Seems like a good tradeoff.
