In emacs I represent everything in Lisp and I use separate color schemes for SXML documents and code. This effectively allows me to distinguish between these different classes of data. Furthermore, emacs has different sets of functionality

Math was written on paper long before there were computers. As a result, the use of infix notation was an act of necessity not a calculated decision. Now that we have computers and keyboards we should use prefix notation.

I am not easily impressed. We wouldn't have any need for driverless cars in the first place, if we just had well designed designed cities. Furthermore, Siri and Watson are just symbol shifting applications which work for iOS and SUSE Linux.

Chinese workers are powerless and sometimes even suicidal. That definitely sounds like capitalism to me. The capitalist exploitation of the working class comes in many forms, in China it just doesn't involve market mechanisms.

Saying that their other option is to 'starve' seems improbable in a country that is based on the communist teachings of Mao and Marx. Chinese policy is based upon the teachings of the capitalist roader Deng Xiaoping. Go into a Chinese boo

Actually most Lisps offer optional means of static verification and static typing for when its necessary. Furthermore, Lisps have vital metaprogramming features that Haskell lacks which are essential for symbolic AI applications.

China has been blatantly capitalist since the economic reforms of Deng Xiaoping, similar to the USSR after the 1965 economic reform. Don't fool yourself - China is capitalist. It is capitalist regardless of what its leadership claims or the

Its pretty easy to criticise, so instead I will discuss the steps I would take to a student CS principles from my own experiences. I find graphs to be fundamental, so I would start the student out with them. 1. Teach the student basic conce

Users already are free to choose proprietary technologies if they want to. The FSF isn't going to change that, nor are they are trying. It is developers that ought to use completely free software, rejecting all proprietary programs in the

You can do anything in any Turing-complete language. JavaScript not only can manipulate trees, it often does. Of course, rather or not you see Lisp in it depends upon how you are identifying Lisp.
