Such "tables" would more typically be constructed as views (materialised if performance requires it) over underlying data. In this case the underlying data would have a row for each sale, with a normal nullable column for agent_id

Honestly it's what you want way more often than not. A unique index on a nullable column is usually representing some optional identifier. You wouldn't usually want only one row to be able to omit the identifier.

Kim being car-less would be represented by Kim not appearing in this table at all. The design you've presented makes no sense.

I can't think of a situation where I'd want "only a single NULL"; that seems much weirder. Another comment described a tree data structure where it could make sense, but I can't think of others. Nullable unique inde

Maybe it's what you meant be "subsequent query", but you don't actually need to do it in a separate query; you can do the partition & rank in a CTE and select from the resulting table, all in a single query. It'

A bit? It doesn't really change the nature of the problem, just the tolerances. It's nowhere near the intractable problem that some people make it out to be.

People nearby clearly do. The people near the camera probably have no idea what happened. In most countries, gun crime is uncommon and people would just be confused what had just happened.

You'd need an excessively powerful transmitter to use an omnidirectional antenna. In the context of a satellite, where power efficiency is crucial, it makes much more sense to use a lower-power transmitter and a directional antenna &#x

The data rate has very little to do with the complexity of the satellite-to-satellite links, and steering RF and optics isn't as different as you might think.

I have spent a delightfully large amount of time walking around Venice in the dark and I never once felt that I couldn't see the edge of the canal. It's relatively rare for people to accidentally fall in, so I think I'm not a

Yeah, I guess if cost is an important factor, trains are not available, and the airports are both sides are on the distant/large/inefficient side, then the bus could marginally make sense. That's not a combination of factors

"Lasers require a lot of power." This statement is meaningless as written. You can emit as much or as little with a laser as you like. You could say "a lot of power is required for a reliable inter-satellite optical link"

You may not be aware that Iridium has been doing inter-satellite links since the late 90s. Using optical rather than RF doesn't really change the game that much.

It's a lot more than a "few whales". Commercial shipping, oil rigs, military (even if only for the recreational/non-operational traffic) will be a much bigger pie than yachts.

Well, there hasn't been a lot of competition in their space traditionally. Many of those subscribers (I've been one) use it because they need it and there is no better option, but don't exactly enjoy it...

Many elevators in tall buildings have you select the floor when you arrive at the elevator bank, then it assigns you an elevator (usually denoted with letters A, B, C, D etc). When that elevator opens you get in (along with other people who

Google Translate does the same in many languages, to the point that it will often reverse the meaning of a sentence. I honestly feel like these tools are still mostly useful when you don't really need to know what the text means.
