What you describe is forward compatibility, and Python (and most other programming language) doesn't have it.

What about the absence of resistance to evil? Perhaps not evil per se, but one could call it absence of good.

The German case confirms it is. A woman (from Shanghai, infected by her parents from Wuhan) gave a training seminar in Munich. She transmitted the virus to her German colleage (33 yr), but started to feel ill only on her flight back to Chin

This definition seems to reflect usage. The question then is: what is the operational difference between a company aiming at an IPO, and one aiming to maximize the total expected profit (that is, every company)? Or is the difference just in

I have a decent understanding of the approach and would vote for #1. I’d say almost all applications of ML in physical sciences are #1. In contrast applying methods of statistical physics to understand how deep learning (as in DNN+SDG) work

Let me try to reformulate OP's comment. In many European countries, there are three deduction levels: (1) the net salary, after all taxes and health and social care deductions, (2) the gross salary, after all mandatory employer contrib

Conda virtual environments and Pip are orthogonal. Pip can be used to install into venvs. But as to why use conda rather than just the standard library venv module (python3 -m venv venv): conda can easily manage multiple python versions. In

I guess OP refers to the fact that even full knowledge of the visible spectrum cannot tell you how you will perceive the color through your three-dimensional perception system and the brain processor.

I tend to think the same. But then I always question whether I just lack imagination in how to formulate the problem scientifically. Because it does feel a bit like an excuse.

But do all those techniques actually work better for humans than trying to post-hoc explain machine learning? Perhaps both cases are just about inventing stories around the decisions so they can be perceived as relatable.

While I mostly agree, I’ll also point out that humans are also black boxes, who have often hard time explaining their decisions.
