How do you propose this would work? Its a very vague suggestion and to me it conjures the idea of something like wikipedia or stack overflow, not a news feed...

thats not even close to reasoning imo, its just an assertion. ... but i agree that the code is safer if you check for bad cases. i can't see why allocating zero ever is more sensible than not doing it at all (and therefore avoiding eve

apple customers spend more money. android customers are cheapskates... this is old news, but the scale of it and having some measurements from others to back it up is nice.

but what about the health benefits? isn't that the real bottom line we care about? not something arbitrary and meaningless like whether people completely stop smoking? isn't reducing smoking a good thing too? it does need some reg

erm... allocating zero was never a good idea. it had varying behaviours on varying platforms for as long as i could remember and was one of those special cases to avoid. the allocators didn't necessary even meet the alignment specifica

its always mystified me why there are not more standardised, simple things. when i load an image i want width, height and rgba in a buffer. complicated extras shouldn't be necessary to load an image. this is why i use stb_image.c - eve

ok, that makes some sense. it can be hard to find resources if you are looking for tutorials, examples or guides rather than specifications... not just for this but in general. the trick imo is to learn not to require those things... which

sure, they mention in the article that they have photos, but the message i got from the article is that having the cameras be real would somehow be of benefit because they help you track down the criminals. to me, it seems very doubtful tha

its kind of sad. i'd rather there was a promise that the footage was kept indefinitely, but never watched unless there was a police warrant. that sounds much more useful...

doesn't this encourage the bad practice of doing large commits containing multiple things instead of independent and discrete changes? i guess its still very useful if you are working somewhere where that bad practice is enforced.
