I don't say I "believe" the nextgov piece simply because he published it. There is less of a barrier to publication there since its not tearing down a person. But if your going to publish an accusation like Dvorak did, you better have don

I have looked into doing startup work in NZ. Try getting a visa. As a U.S. citizen, I can get a travel visa. To go that route, I have to leave every few months (I forget which it is, but even 6 months is too often/costly). As a visitor,

I hear you, but Dvorak did publish a slander against Kundra based simply on his rudimentary queries. This is hardly good journalism. from the article: "But I was able to verify Kundra's degree with just a few phone calls in under two hours

this will be great as soon as hosting providers give the option of "disk space using SSD". Until then, a solution like this binds you to buying your own servers. Maybe I'm misreading their web site, but they do list SSD as their first "fe

I can relate to this comment. I've bootstrapped in Shanghai (last 9 years) and in Cape Town (6 months, mid-90s). Both were great. I ran into other Americans and Europeans from time to time that were not respectful of the locals and I fel

I doubt your problem in finding a programming job is due to your lack of a CS degree. Your experience should be enough for entry to mid range jobs, its the market that is lacking at the moment. That is not to say you should not get a CS M

WOW!!! Why is this ever hitting the ruby process? These are static assets. The decision should be made at the http proxy (apache, nginx) not your ruby proc.

I didn't have plans for $20 million, ephemeral or real. I didn't have a number at all. But I think that's symptomatic of the problem. The problem seems to lie in the "suspension of reality" that exists for many entrepreneurial endeavors.

I had 80% of my own company in the 90s. My outside investors were limited enough that I could sell when I wanted. I walked away from $20M buyouts twice. 2 years later, things became unstable and then just fell apart. I kept pouring funds

For the state I live in, I find there is little knowledge of linux/unix in state and local governments. This quickly narrows the playing field to Windows and to proprietary from there.

I"m sure the attention intervals are getting shorter. Mainstream media is painful to watch. I only picked the period 30-40 years as I'm 40 years old and it seems our political system has been "passing the buck" through my life.

It amazes me that OS X handles PDF navigation in its reader so poorly (not that Acrobat Reader is any better). Sure you get crystal clear rendering. But paging, scrolling, yeck!! An HTML browser handles this much better.
