Depends I guess on just how much liquid we're talking about here, and if damage is guaranteed or just unknown at this point. The air keyboard is reasonably spill-resistant, my girlfriend has had some accidental spills on her 11" Air without

I'm no TSA apologist, and anyone who knows me knows my dislike for not only the TSA but the bizarre and fluid rules and policies that they inconsistently enforce. But everyone knows the TSA exists and their collective lack of sensibility is

It does have limited usability... for now. One review of the Lytro commented that using one was "beta testing the future of photography" and that's really how I view it. I bought one not for what the current camera could do at the time, but

The camera's raw format is indeed an entire light field (I've used nrp's tools, they're great). The camera import software creates a layered JPEG out of the raw data for uploading and sharing, since the size and the amount of math involved

Man, tough crowd. I have a Lytro, and I love it. I'm quite a fan of the technology. It's not perfect, and it's uses are (for now) somewhat limited, but I feel your criticism of it may be a little overly harsh. First off, the current Lytro m

Tazo teas don't have the reputation of being high-end enough to fetch the prices teavana teas do. I drink some of them, but boy, they ain't cheap. I mean Teavana, but in hindsight that same comment applies to Starbucks as well.

I'm really bothered by this one line: "One said that computer engineers view coding as both an art and a science. A lot of them were pissed off at having somebody else dictate their art to them." Well, yeah. Software is inarguably a combina

BCrypt 19s are <40s to encrypt here, using Java and not even native code. Certainly not outside the realm of usability for something you don't authenticate against all the time. I wouldn't want that for my screenlock password, but I can

Delay in followup, but a followup nontheless! No, there's no single 3rd party app that I trust as much as Facebook. I don't know who most of these these 3rd party developers are most of the time, and that unknown makes me distrust by defaul

I too ran Slackware in the Way Back When days, and I think it's simplicity helped admins to understand how Linux works, on a more general scale, than user-friendlier distros nowadays might not. There's a time and a place for both. Simple up

"so-called drivers"? I've already ranted once today on the declining quality of tech news, so I'm just going to go sit in a corner and weep softly to myself this time.

This is a sad state of tech "reporting" nowadays. One guy posts one thing on twitter, and this is at least the 4th or 5th "news" report about it, with nothing more to go on other than one tweet. I don't doubt it can be done, and I don't dou

I've had very good results with iOS 6 so far (and I've been running it for far longer than 2 days). Even the maps app isn't "buggy", just missing a lot of data. However, since map data is on the back end it can be updated without having to
