I worked at an isp that was the state registrar. I had number.street.city.state.us I should have maintained that.

The historical term is forecast. Catching a ball is enough evidence the ability exists. I agree, it’s important to not overstate the possibility, but it’s not nothing.

I see you're clearly not a fan of Card and Krueger. But it's deeper than that. I'm happy to vote away minimum wage if (and it's a big if) there's something we replace it with that continues to serve society. what wo

Fundamentally you have to choose. Does society serve the market, or does the market serve society? I realize that legislating that it not rain on Saturday is ridiculous. But it is certainly reasonable to influence the market. Save in the go

> Economic illiterarcy on full display What’s your plan to fix that? The school of hard knocks? Public education? I mean, as long as it exists, people are going to be exploited. Specifically not paid fair market value.

Sure. That would be an efficient solution. No one wants to take that hit though. So we’re going to do the other thing.

This is hard to parse. All software that can be represented as if and goto (and some sort of assignment i suppose)? when, while and do are just if and goto. alpha go is all just if and goto. I'm not sure what you're looking for or

I recall some effort in moving from imperial measurement to metric. Reality itself does not care, but the math sure gets easier if you carefully select units. Actually, another neat example is analog vs digital computation. your models can

Seems like breadth first vs depth first search. They will converge at the same answer. Depth first, you make the happy path work, then refine error handling. Breadth first, you ensure everything is handled at every moment. I’ll have to thin

Mass produced cars, bread, and public water are all over 100 years old. It’s funny you only use ancient tech as counter examples for avoiding ancient tech.
