I'm considering a "rugged phone" as my next one. They seem great. A bit chunky, sure, but more battery, better value & more durable. I don't need a paper-thin or foldable-screen phone. I'm a bit surprised how li

I think Amazon or Microsoft acquiring Reddit would probably just be the end of Reddit. They would feel pressured to censor it into non-existence.

Yeah, I really can't figure out whether they actually believe they have an issue with this or not. Nonetheless, they do claim to be working on it.

This list is so long that they should consider summarising it at the top; a graph tracking new production introductions vs retirements, so that we can see whether Google is getting any better at creating lasting products.

> The new integrated view for Gmail looks promising. It's difficult to get excited about anything new from Google even if it's good. It's all disposable. Won't last. Eventually, they will replace it with something els

Related to your "exposed to" vs "infected" point, I've been wanting to check my understanding on something, and hopefully someone here can provide a more informed opinion. Immunity can be boosted through exposure, r

I don't think DAUs would necessarily tell the full story for Facebook. Browsers still get pointed to Facebook a few times a day, but I bet the depth of engagement is a fraction of what it used to be.

No, they're not. The linked post even mentions Softbank being a shareholder. It would be good to know what % of Cruise is owned by GM, but as far as I know it hasn't been made public knowledge. Hope someone can correct me on that.

If fusing two data sources is necessary prior to making actuation decisions, how could adding another data source not introduce additional processing & latency? It's not just about paying more dollars, but also range. You're a

The real equation is closer to: Radar + LIDAR + Vision + Cost + Latency - Battery Doing it with vision only saves on cost, latency & energy consumption.

Think along the lines of: 1. What is necessary vs sufficient. 2. Processing power. 3. Power consumption. 4. Hardware cost. (even if may have decreased now, the cost of initiating the programme years ago) 5. Training cost / volume of da
