Completely agree. It's incredible that Atlassian haven't fixed it yet, since they will eventually be replaced if they don't. Makes me wonder what it will take for Atlassian to eventually be replaced, since the users affected

Believe it or not, about 15 years ago, Atlassian tools were far better than their competitors.

This seems built into pretty much every Google product at the moment; Calendar, Drive, Photos, GChat. Gmail also seems to be letting through more spam in recent years. It's surprising because I thought spam was in some ways in competit

The thing is, as a user, I'm going to be very understanding if something that looks a lot like spam coming from an unrecognized address ends up in spam.

I suspect they're going to bring out a "premium" spam filter at some point, as a way of monetizing individual Gmail accounts.

Gmail sometimes lets through particularly obvious spam, of the kind that heuristics could definitely catch. It's almost certainly a lack of will, or an insistence on filtering in a particular way. (Eg. considering themselves above heur

Regarding warnings/disclaimers on content, I find genuinely helpful ones are far more palatable than censorship. I think Twitter's Community Notes is a great example of this. From what I've seen, YouTubers are concerned about

The balanced take on autonomous vehicles is that there are degrees of merit in most of the major approaches, but you'll almost never hear that opinion because this topic has somehow become akin to a religious debate.

I don't think Mozilla & Google both start working on iOS browser engines just to show what's possible. They might be speculatively developing these, but I think it's definitely based on an expectation that they have a rea

This seems to be a similar image finder applied to the dataset used to train Stable Diffusion, I think? I uploaded a photo I took a few minutes earlier and it showed me similar photos. My point is that it doesn't seem to prove that any

Is there any way for it to make business sense, or was it pure incompetence? I wonder how many databases they deleted that they could have instead started charging for. Seems to be incredibly destructive for all involved. (SF shareholders,

Even the seemingly independent ones can get acquired by Google and eventually killed. Anyone remember Parse? It was quite successful until Facebook got hold of it and seemingly out of nowhere decided to destroy it.

Yeah, my first thought about Pro was that even if I pay $42 per month, the results will still be nerfed, and perhaps increasingly so over time. It's possible to view almost every fact or opinion as somehow controversial, and I think th

If the herd is at one extreme or the other, the middle ground is the opposite of going with the herd. It could be unpopular because it's wrong, or it might be the insightful choice. Critical thinking will probably help figure out which

I would argue the inverse. If you reject both extremes, and are somewhere in the middle, you probably are much closer to something reasonable. (both in engineering and when driving)

I've noticed the hype shifting from crypto to AI, but at least AI is actually going to be somewhat revolutionary and (in my opinion) deserving of the hype. Hopefully it gets mostly used in good ways, rather than as new ways to scam.

You can make the argument that any precedent might not apply to a new case due to a distinction being made. The nature of precedents seems to be that they are a set of basic facts, a judgement, and only a guide as to how future cases might
