After decapping an IC, an experienced eye can usually identify patterns and make educated guesses at what each module in a circuit does, at least at a very high level. This can be helpful in and of itself, without diving into an exact under

Not yet! I have a bit of work to do before trying to show this project. There's a MENTAL-2 being built right now, and a few software tools I need to clean up. Hoping to get it up to at least 1MHz.

Slick work! I've been on the hunt for similar projects to compare approaches, but I haven't find many implementations outside of FPGAs. I like the approach for handling [ and ]. My design is "dumb" in the sense that it u

Well, compared to Atom, yes. Two somewhat similar tools with trade offs between them, one of them being speed.

It's funny you mention switching from Windows to MacOS for the command line tools. I booted up a pre-NeXT Mac (an iBook with OS9) the other day, and was blown away to learn that there is no terminal at all! How quickly things changed a

The useful features of hardware are emulated. The quirky edge cases, unused opcodes, and more esoteric features are often left out. The programming oversights in the game logic will remain, but the behavior can sometimes vary when you get t

Really, the only reason it's creepy is because it actualizes the difference between what a user thinks the location services know, and what they actually know. Your phone pretty much always knows roughly where you are, it usually just
