I would use the term "reading" than "scrolling" though. Scrolling implies that you don't really care much about anything and just mindlessly consume content.

Yeah, when I tried to implement BMP I couldn't even find a good specification. In the end it was easier to write a PNG loader/writer than deal with BMP. I've also got much better compatibility with other software. The writer

Yeah these features are overrated. You can still autocomplete based on existing words in the same file by pressing Ctrl+N, but otherwise just typing it out or copying is totally OK. I've also experienced autocomplete in NetBeans IDE so

Photographs and videos seems allright to me, maybe I'm just used to it. I like that the dark regions are visible (esp. when IPS LCDs have not that great blacks due to the backlight). I always hated it on CRTs where photographs were too

Yeah monitor controls can be a problem. You can download an utility to set it from the computer, it's much more comfortable. I'm using one from my monitor vendor, but there are also generic ones. Search for utilities that can set

With a properly set monitor and gamma setting there is no issue with switching between light and dark mode at all (even in a pitch black room at night). I use it regularly, I prefer light mode but I also use dark mode for stuff like termina

Yeah, most people use their screens with brightness cranked up and then wonder why they have all sort of problems. The trick is to set a low brightness, in my case it's a little below what you would call comfortable, but that's be

Being banned because of using a normal feature can get even more ridiculous. Playing some games on GeForce NOW (a game streaming service) can get you banned by just using the service or exhaust the allowed plays per day because it runs in e

That's because TV news is an entertainment program similar to a reality TV show. It's designed to enrage you with terrible news even when the reality is quite different and things are not that dire. When I realized it I stopped wa

If you like how easy is to embed Lua but not liking it's syntax or features you can try FixScript. It's a language I've created that has C-like syntax, the implementation is a single .c file. It's unique feature is an ab

If you mean Microsoft abandoning their engine then their reasoning sounded as an excuse because they clearly have the capacity to work on it. They simply decided for other internal reasons to stop and just blamed it on Google/YouTube a

Yeah I'm watching that project, it's great. Once it will be mature I will evaluate it against CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework). I plan to add an optional support of embedding CEF so that you can use it for specific tabs or websit

Yeah it processes the HTML+CSS, applies the fix scripts so web pages that wouldn't work without JS are fixed to be usable. Then it applies whitelist to all HTML elements/attributes and CSS rules. This is then converted back to HTM

I'm targetting GTK because it's the most common toolkit and it is easy to interoperate from other languages. I will also attempt to do a Qt/KDE support at some point in the future, but C++ is more complicated with binary comp

There is a plan for using CEF engine for a specific tab or website. The user would be able to make the website work with a single click and it would remember it. You would still have the advantage of a lightweight browser just in a lesser d

Using a full browser engine with JS disabled is not the same as you won't get the architectural benefits of not having to support dynamic changes by JS at all. It allows for a much simpler one-way processing from one stage to another.
