There's certainly that factor, but then it even happens with the app store. Though what I think happened is that the distributors kicked up a fuss when the iTunes store was made available in Australia, so the record companies made the price

They took it to court. That could just as easily be classified as dragging someone through the mud in public. That said I can't see either side being completely innocent. Now that they've taken it this far, it'd be in the interests of both

There's actually a proven and safe method to accomplish the same task, that has been occurring for centuries now. It works by having passengers wait on a platform, step onto a carriage then take a seat while the driver does all the work. Ye

If all they're doing is charging a smaller licensing fee then they haven't lost anything if the user switches to another OS.

If I had any concern, it's that the surveys are used as a means to access premium content. This may or may not effect the quality of answers.

Could certainly be factor. Though the other thing is that all those vehicles in Vietnam are motorbikes, so any accidents at speed are likely to be more fatal. Though for the original topic then pedestrian fatality stats would be useful as w

Thanks for the stats. I am actually in Australia, which has even fewer fatalities (8 per 100,000 vehicles according to that link), which could probably be attributed to strong government advertising campaigns and enforcement of speed limits

I was in Vietnam recently. To the westerner their city streets look chaotic and impossible to cross as most people get around by motorbike and there is rarely a gap in traffic. Though it turns out if you cross the road slowly and predictabl

I do find it impressive that Australia was more or less connected to the rest of the world by telecommunications in 1872 once the overland telegraph line was completed. The US was only connected reliably connected to Europe about six years

Perhaps they enforce the deletion by preventing you from restoring a copy of the song from a backup to iTunes. Though doesn't stop you playing the song on another device that is entirely independent of iTunes.

It goes to show how elegant and simple the humble bicycle is. I enjoy cycling because it's fast, efficient and peaceful. I'm not sure that this design meets that criteria at all. It might look pretty when viewed at certain angles but on the

Isn't it more a case that they divorce themselves from reality by dealing with pure numbers? I gather they would only focus on prices and not even think about the impact it has on other companies and people.

I just looked at Telstra's plans for iPhone in Australia and you can get the base model iPhone 4S for $63 a month or the 64GB model for $72 a month. An Android phone will cost you at least $59 a month on a contract but there are also handse

It's not free at all if you have to sign a contract. When obtaining a phone under contract I always consider the total cost of ownership (which is conveniently written into the contract where I live at least). So if you're paying $50[1] a m

How about when Microsoft made it so Windows wouldn't run on DR-DOS? Though it may not have made too much difference in the long run, given the need to get away from the DOS based architecture.

Something else worth noting which the last url suggests is that Sweden can't just extradite him to the US at their own will. It would also have to be approved by Britain.

Unlikely that this would be possible as the data can no doubt be compiled from other sources. Besides they're still selling the atlas. Seems more likely that some lawyer has noticed the reference and convinced them to take it up.

Pre-conditioned to like. Interesting way of putting it, but then how exactly has Apple pre-conditioned people to like their designs? I think it's more likely that Apple's choice of aesthetic just appeal to the majority.
