I hadn't heard this, but I'm not surprised. The right wing has essentially declared culture war on EVs. They will tax them out of existence, if they can.

I drive a crossover myself, but if you do the math, driving a cheap sedan and renting a truck when you need it is often WAY cheaper. I remember when a neighbor bought a new washer/dryer and gave their old set away to whoever would haul

Be more specific. What heroic successful/efficient player is being stifled from fixing health care costs because they can't expand to neighboring states?

Not every first world country has a true single-payer healthcare system. There are many variations that work better than what we have. The difference is that in the US we have accepted profit maximization as the legitimate primary goal in t

But what if those prices weren't deflated at all by the low wages? What if instead of passing their low costs onto the consumer, businesses were just pocketing the difference instead, because prices weren't really based upon the

It depends on what you mean by mass layoffs. In post-Jack Welch America, there is ALWAYS some company doing massive RIFs. Often when they're already profitable. I think your hat and your stomach are safe.

Considering how gun ownership makes you more likely to be killed by a firearm, I'd say yes, it's very rational to not own one.

Yes, what happens when the senior engineer leaves the company, having never shared his or her knowledge? It sounds like you are trying to address issues during mentoring that should have been addressed during the hiring process. In my exper

I don't think you get it. Letting a junior engineer bang their heads for a few days on something you could show them in ten minutes is just a waste of time and money. In my experience there are PLENTY of real problems for them to solve

Allowing a noob to spin their wheels for too long isn't just wasteful, it sets the exact wrong tone. The goal is not to "figure everything out for yourself". It's to GET THINGS DONE.

Yeah, I have no idea where they are getting their numbers. I haven't run the real-world numbers recently, but my Model Y is rated at 4.0 miles/kwh. I pay about $0.16 per kwh to home charge. That's 25 miles/dollar (USD).

I love the bizarre class biases you get on forums like these. I hate to break it to you, but the majority of jobs still require physical presence -- over 70%, in fact. And business travel is already way down -- it now represents only 12%
