Great idea but unfortunately it is battery operated. I suppose a relay on Vcc might do the trick though!

I recently got a SureFeed RFID feeder. It can read your cat's microchip or an RFID collar tag. When an authorized kitty approaches, a flap raises and lets the cat eat. I got it to prevent other family pets from stealing my cat's f

If anyone is wondering: yes, you can own your very own atomic clock for a "reasonable" price! I encourage everyone to read [0] where a father takes his kids and a few atomic clocks up a mountain and back down. By looking at the

I purchased one used, mostly to see what it is like but also to have as a backup phone Just In Case. The hardware is a mixed bag: the screen is gorgeous, the keyboard is a bit narrow but allows for very accurate typing, the back of the case

Providing guaranteed access to random numbers has been a recent example of a new, badly needed, but fairly simple syscall. With getrandom(), you avoid the complexities of open/read/close and its associated error handling. https:&

It will be interesting to see how Android "Instant Apps" end up working. Looking at AOSP, bits of "ephemeral-app" support code has been tricking in for (probably) Android O release but I haven't been able to find a

If signatures are checked, they are checked by the kernel (and its userland buddy AMFI) every time the process is launched. I'm not sure what the defaults are for macOS lately but a developer can opt-in to even more restrictions like r

Good question. Given the well documented and stable x86/x86_64 Linux ABIs, it should be at least as feasible as the Darling project. I've been watching projects like Darling and libhybris (run Android bionic libc binaries on glibc

Correct. I've hacked at it a bit in an attempt to re-enable the functionality but I haven't been successful yet. After reversing some old XCodes and iOS binaries I found a MobileDevice.framework call that is related to WiFi debugg

Especially for people who are tied to macOS for iOS development reasons. I guess it is time to look into Hackintoshes again.* Apple really seems to loath their developers either through active malice or passive indifference. I've waste

"Spin" is surreal. Thank you very much for the pointer! Are satellite uplinks scrambled/encrypted these days? If they uplink via something like MPEG-TS, I don't imagine it would be too hard.

Maybe you could add a capacitor to keep the LED going for a bit longer after the power cuts. The power off dimming might be aesthetically pleasing too.

Reading your single comment (and watching the linked clip) was very much worth my time! I never before realized that you can address Excel cells via a symbolic name instead of row/column-wise. That is very cool and probably very basic.
