I'm interested in who owns the data after it is collected. Is it the company's or does it below to the person who is paying the $50/year? My hunch is that the company will retain rights over the data collected and it can beco

Thanks for the code. I've been trying with the Elixir library websockex [1] but it has been giving me nothing but troubles. I just gave up and poll every X minutes now. [1] https://github.com/Azolo/websockex

Interesting site. It would be an interesting exercise to try and arbitrage the price differences of BTC on different exchanges.

What are you using to listen to GDAX sockets? I've been able to successfully connect using their node library but when trying to connect directly without using their library I'm unable to connect.

From the anlysis that was written up you would most likely not make consistent money on. That said, it could be used as a basis to start exploring more to try and find other factors that could influence price and try to trade on that.

I've started dabbling with R (started with Python and just got fed up with it and switched to R) and ML to analyze bitcoin from GDAX over the past few days. Coming from a non-stats background (I did time-series analysis in undergrad al

We use Crucible for our code reviews and I have been happy with it. We use the Atlassian 'stack' so it integrates well with Jira and Bitbucket, which is nice. It is nice to have all changes highlighted and the ability to make comm

For algorithmic trading, more specifically cryptocurrency and possibly forex markets. I'm looking into reinforcement learning to better determine enters/exits into the market.

I was lucky enough to get out of SSIS work a earlier this year (and I only did it for about 6 months total) but it seems to me that if you want to make some money off of SSIS take a look at version control. Currently, SSIS packages in git a

I've been following the price of Bitcoin on GDAX and it is interesting to see the 12 period EMA and 26 period EMA overlays. From what I've seen (and I don't have historical data, just what is on the chart for any time I look)

Just FYI ÖBB Nightjet is a train and not a plane. I looked it up to see comparisons but I had the same assumption as you based on the name. Also, Amtrak doesn't maintain the track that is up to the track owner to do the maintenance. Am

There is more to it than just a single rail line. Who owns the rail that ÖBB Nightjet uses? Amtrak has to make payments to the owners of the rail that they ride on. They are incremental payments and not access fees but that is still a cost.

The problem with Amtrak is that it takes so long. My wife and her family went to Orlando from Chicago last December and flying was way too expensive for all 4 of them. They ended up driving, after not wanting to, but I looked into Amtrak fo

I am not certified and the three times I've been out we have done 40' max depth. 22' is definitely within range of somebody who took a 30 minute session and is out with an instructor.

As somebody who has been diving into Elixir and Phoenix this year I have to say that the Phoenix way into Elixir isn't as exciting as a backend application written in Elixir in regards to the power of the language and the platform. A l

I think Erlang hasn't caught on because of its syntax. It is much different than anything else I've seen (that wasn't an esoteric language). That syntax will rear its ugly head when using Elixir as well since you have to dive

Create a program that pulls the top posts from subreddits on Reddit and put it into a book then sell it. You could do this automatically by using Reddit's API and then using a library to convert the text into PDF, ePub, etc.
