That's an interesting article, but is it grounds for an appeal? Or could it be seen as an instance of jury nullification?

I'll have to look into it, because with my habits (97% of the time in a wifi zone except for the car), this would be perfect for google maps and google voice when I am in a car or out of a wifi zone. I've actually been very happy with vario

It's a rather self-defeating view of the 4th Amendment that suggests that, because the government could easily gain access to a piece of data, that data must therefore not be private. The government can easily get access to most data. Goo

If the suspect had a screen lock, would that create a reasonable expectation of privacy? Yes, I think so. If the message was just displayed there, and the phone is not in the person's pocket, I don't see any more privacy for that than a p

If some people expect phone calls to be kept private, they are wrong. Their expectation doesn't change reality. The phone call itself is private. GSM Cell phone calls are encrypted (is that still unbroken for most people??) Recording is

Savage reasoned that cell phone contents are deserving of Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures because people generally keep them on their person at all times. "Text messages are often raw, unvarnished, an

I think you're both wrong! I like the hardware of the SGII I have, and I would prefer the hardware of the Galaxy Note, or the Galaxy Note II. But also, remove TouchWiz, and still the Galaxy Note II has some very nice and innovative software

That's an excellent point. While it will definitely take some sales away from the original Makerbot, it will also definitely increase the size of the entire market, all of whom will now have Makerbot knowledge and be eager to see what Maker

$1200 is pretty sweet compared to $1800, but I am already concerned that someone making copies is already behind the curve compared to the original inventor in terms of the innovation I appreciate. Cf. cheap PCs to the ones you specify in y

It seems dumb in the same way that vertical integration is often seen to be inferior to horizontal integration. If for instance Twitter is doing this to support Posterous, a tumblr competitor, this will probably harm Twitter more than it wi

That's a possibility. The FARK thread is here http://www.fark.com/comments/7259728/Stitched-together-by-a-... and you're correct, he doesn't say that's the original (and it does explain some of the differences between the two) but he does

A guy at FARK took the publically released "self-portrait" of Curiosity and "stitched" it together to correct it. I am not sure what he did, but it looks hugely better. Original: http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/675130main_image_2331_94
