Yes and the flaw itself is from self hosted gitlab instances that haven’t been patched and updated after known security flaws were found in 2021

Wouldn’t a naive solution just be to have a flag that by default enables the GIL, and when disabled, a warning gets printed?

Any org will often have multiple users asking the same questions over and over again on slack. Apart from a search bar there isn’t a good way to archive or pin important conversations for everyone to see

If anyone has any good pointers/references/benchmarks on how to evaluate such systems that would be really helpful

I also found the intro to be of very high quality, I wonder if they overfitted on that?

Having implemented my own "ask a PDF a question" GPT wrapper, there's a lot of design decisions / complexity that can make it better/worse and I'm not sure how much a "one-size fits all" google approa

I can’t help but be somewhat cynical in this case. An 18 year old driver, whos car is driving in the middle of the lane, crashes into a parked truck on the highway… could it be the teen can now conveniently blame the “autopilot” for his poo

It doesn’t say to not say hello, or simply says don’t leave an empty hello without context. This makes a lot of sense especially in asynchronous teams. A notification can pull you out of flow and be disruptive, so minimize them

OpenAI has always stuck to “simpler” approaches that scale. It’s the best bet to make and it’s paid off time and time again for them. I don’t think it’s so much “they’re out of ideas”, it’s just an idea that scales well

I think it’s just an ensemble of models, so you do some kind of pooling/majority vote on your output tokens

I really wonder if it is the case that the image processing is simply more tokens appended to the sequence. Would make the most sense from an architecture perspective, training must be a whole other ballgame of alchemy though

I like the suggestion of not having to worry about stashing changes when going back and forth between branches, this is definitely a point of friction for me with git. Not sure I’d be ready to learn a whole new workflow just for that though

Garbage in, garbage out The real moat openAI might have in the future is a “mostly human” dataset they managed to scrape before the generative AI frenzy
