Not entirely true. I have a card straight from Amex. Fortunately I can't tell you if that makes things better.

"Be strict in what you emit, liberal in what you accept." Bing failed the first part, Google the second. Both should fix that.

These seem to be the relevant parts of MSs responses: "Opt-in programs like the [Bing] toolbar help us with clickstream data, one of many input signals we and other search engines use to help rank sites." “We do not copy Google’s results.”

From the article: I decided to leave Intuit and fundamentally improve communication in a way that would obsolete notebox. Sounds like notebox and CompanyLine are two different products that don't necessarily share code.

The charities are getting actual money either way. I get your point, but this is a win for two parties (google and the charities) and I don't see any loss for the third party (the public).

From the "What's next" section: The next bugfix version (1.7.0.1) will feature a rewrite of the DOM code to be easier to read and faster at the same time. That sounds like a lot of impact for a bugfix release.

Dutch culture has become more clique-oriented, where you have your close friends from a very young age, but casual acquaintances keep each other at arms length much moreso, and it's a bit less trusting of a society than others. I'm Dutch
