Use Classic Shell (recommended elsewhere in the comments). Returns the Start Menu button to usability, breaks out the Control Panel into an alphabetical list, etc., etc.

4. Make sure when you explain "A" that the person you're talking to doesn't hear it as "B". Not sure why, but this seems to be very common with programmers -- especially when one programmer is explaining a task to another programmer.
