What a coincidence - I am in the middle of this book right now. It is a fantastic book backed up with tangible examples (psychology studies, mainly), and if you are in the business of persuading customers, I suggest you grab a copy. It cove

I think you may be mistaken Amazon.com is now selling more Kindle books than paperback books. Since the beginning of the year, for every 100 paperback books Amazon has sold, the Company has sold 115 Kindle books. Additionally, during this

That is a really interesting idea. The only issue I would see with this is that having the sudden "We lowered the price!" message would influence conversion rates at the final step. You would have to measure and compare the number of "add t

I just booked a flight on Hipmunk today. Brilliant work guys :) You have succeeded in your effort to make finding an agony-free flight easy.

I've seen something like this before - very interesting concept. Now, "seamless product integration" can take place post-production, instead of having ad executives read through scripts.

Of course you should apply. If you don't, there's a 0% chance you will be accepted. Even if you aren't chosen for an interview, I have read many comments here from people who found going through the application process was a worthwhile ende

This is how I got through University. As I read my textbooks I wrote out every main point as a question. At the end of my reading I would have a huge list, and when I could answer them all I would finish studying. Never failed a test, or wa

That made me smile :) "Look at this brilliant technology. Just take a picture of this symbol and your phone automagically translates it into list of specials and prices!" "Why don't they just put up the menu/specials?" "oh..."

Not knowing which keywords referred visitors would be terribly annoying to webmasters. Unless you're using dodgy 3rd party advertisers, I don't see what's so bad about aggregating referrer data. I have a feeling Google might be keen to hold

How about any internship? You work for free in exchange for the opportunity to learn something and broaden your skills and experience.

Beautiful video. I might be moving to London for a few months, and the "stay for a month" line certainly persuaded me to take a look when I do.

That's why they have the ebay-like "review" system. It works pretty well for the couch surfing websites, so I am sure it works well here too. (but yes, I agree with you - I don't know how keen I'd be to leave someone the keys to my place wh

I would love for someone to download all the data and put together lists of the most frequent 10,000 1, 2, 4, and 5 ngrams. The datasets are just too large for my computer to handle. http://ngrams.googlelabs.com/datasets

If a YC startup was to never be acquired, what sort of dividend structure would you think is ideal? What sort of returns would you consider a "successful" investment?
