I'm noticing a trend recently of accounts created seemingly for the sole purpose of insulting a specific post / comment, and it's beginning to seriously irritate me. Does anyone know why this seems to be on the rise, and if t

I'm getting similarly horrible performance on Chromium what-I-assume-is-latest (32.0.1700.107) on Arch Linux; Firefox has no performance issues but doesn't actually render all of the CSS being showcased.

For the record, Dolphin has all of those features as well (although text-path-by-default and open-zipfile-as-folder both need to be enabled manually).

Just to add to this, even for the special-compile-flags case, you shouldn't need to go the manual-make road; you can easily customize packages with the ABS ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ABS ) and use them l

As a student, I have no idea how Moodle is from a professor's standpoint, but from a student's it's infinitely preferable to D2L, at least. I've never used Blackboard either, but nobody seems to think that it's appr

While I agree that the name 'bro' was incredibly poorly chosen, I think the use of 'curl' may have less to do with weight-lifting analogies than the fact that it's an incredibly complex command with a 2280-line manp

While I don't know that it's difficult to teach OOP in the sense of 'objects exist' in Python, I do think it's more difficult to teach a lot of tthe concepts associated with OOP, because the way it's done in Py

The arrows do become higher-res at 200%, if you're having serious readability issues. Or you could do something with Stylish or the like.

You can pass Ruby methods around; the syntax is just ugly, and it isn't really used: def call_on_two fn fn.call 2 end call_on_two 1.method(:+) #=> 3 The problem with [1, 2, 3].map(:function_name) is just

Out of curiosity: what intent would you say is communicated by choosing references over pointers, or vice versa? I'm relatively new to C++, but I haven't noticed any real difference beyond personal preference.

I'd imagine he only reason adblocking is still as effective as it is is because it's used by so small a number of users. If it would ship by default, advertisers would have a much greater incentive to work around it, and ruin it e

I agree--- if any author were to use `he/she' consistently, I'd probably find their writing quite annoying. Still, that hardly means they'd have no other ways of being gender-neutral ;)

Much though I love the idea of extraterrestrial airships, wouldn't an airship be even less effective than heavier-than-air machines in an incredibly thin atmosphere like Mars'?

National pride, I think. By the 19th century it was generally acknowledged that Antiqua typefaces were more legible, but they were perceived as insufficiently German or whatever. In any case, Fraktur probably would be a lot easier to read t

I think the specific case of ligatures isn't a failure in strings per se, but a failure in Unicode in that it includes them in the first place. What "fi".upper() (or whatever) should do is kind of ambiguous. The following does
